Atlanta Activities for Young Men & Families @ Magnalia

The Magnalia House is dedicated to the character and intellectual development of young men. Its programs prepare middle school, high school, and college students throughout the South of United States to be men of ideals committed to improving the world around them through their professional work, friendships, and life of service.

Magnalia House programs are inspired by a Christian spirit which views the world as good, sees work as fulfillment of man’s nature, and emphasizes service towards one’s neighbor. The Christian orientation of YSI’s programs is entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal Prelature of the Catholic Church.

LEADERSHIP SEMINAR

For Upper College and Young Professionals

In every day and age – no less in our own time – there are challenges which both society and individuals face.  It is not enough simply to navigate one’s own way through these challenges.  There is a need for men in every sector of civic life who dedicate their talent, time, and energy in service to those around them.  In other words, there is a need for men who can make things happen, men who are leaders.  The goal of the Leadership Seminar is to spur young men on in their development of key leadership virtues and skills.

THE POINT

12:30 pm to 3:00 pm

For 8th, Freshman and Sophomore in High School

The Point encourages middle and high school men to think about the kind of life they want to build. In particular, we focus on three tasks of life: serving society through work; forming a family and building a friendship with God and others. The seminar is about the virtues needed to succeed in school and in life that, when repeated, lead to happiness. The seminar also includes practical guidelines on setting goals for the future — developing friends and study habits during the school year, choosing good activities for the summer, and growing in self-knowledge about their academic and career inclinations.
